Environmental Data Management

SMA uses EQuIS© to manage its investigation and remediation data. EQuIS© is a robust, geo-referenced environmental database that is easily expandable and customizable to enable management and analysis of environmental data from multiple facilities through a web-enabled interface. The EQuIS database system allows SMA to:

  • Receive and manage site data via electronic data deliverables (EDDs);
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of site data stored in a central database equipped with high-level security features;
  • Provide SMA project managers and their clients immediate access to the most current environmental data through either a desktop or web-based application; and,
  • Provide data analysis support including reports, graphs, graphics, and third-party exports (e.g. ArcGIS, CAD, Excel, Surfer, MODFLOW, EVS, and WinLog).

SMA uses the EQuIS© database to manage investigative data such as chemical, geotechnical, geologic/lithologic, fluid elevations (groundwater and LNAPL), and CPT/ROST, as well as operation and recovery data from remediation systems including soil vapor extraction, pneumatic skimmer pumps, and mobile internal combustion engine (ICE) unit.
